— A Fort Mill man was charged with shoplifting from a local store after a bag of frozen chicken wings slipped from his pants leg, police said.

Quantney Antonio McConnels, 29, of 431 Featherson Rd., Fort Mill, was arrested Dec. 27 and charged with shoplifting at a CVS pharmacy in Fort Mill. The store manager called police to report that a customer was observed taking items and concealing them under his clothes,” according to a Fort Mill Police Department report. When officers arrived, they approached the suspect and noticed an unusual bulge down his left front pant leg.

During a pat down search police said they performed to see if McConnels was concealing any weapons, a box of frozen chicken wings allegedly fell from his pant leg, one of the arresting officers wrote in the report. Police said they also found a can of Bumble Bee salmon and a bottle of vodka stashed under McConnels’ clothes. The store manager said the food items were merchandise from his store.

McConnels told police he was planning to pay for the items, according to the report. He was arrested and taken into custody at the Fort Mill Police Department.
