From staff reportsJanuary 3, 2014

— Blake Gray, who started her performing career when she was 15, celebrated being in her home town of Fort Mill at Christmas by performing with her fiance Brian Nutter at McHale’s on Gold Hill Road.

The couple met about a year ago in Nashville, Tenn., when Blake was performing. They formed a duo called Unbreakable and plan to record an album in February.

Gray, 27, is a native of Texas who has been writing songs since she was 8. She started performing in Fort Mill when she was 15 at Tex-Mex restaurants El Cancun off Carowinds and El Maguey near Tega Cay. Playing weddings and other gigs, she performed for Country Classic Theatre in Pigeon Forge, Tenn. She moved to Nashville seven years ago and has signed with Blue Guitar Music Publishing.

While building a following in the U.S., Canada and Australia, Gray has written songs with top writers in Nashville, including Carolyn Dawn Johnson, Richie McDonald of Lonestar, Tony Stampley, Will Nance, Bernie Nelson and Carolina natives Bridgette Tatum and Chase Rice.

Nutter plays lead guitar for Keith Urban and is on tour with the county star and Little Big Town. He’s also performed with Taylor Swift.
