McHale's closing its Fort Mill pub

— After more than 17 years of serving the Fort Mill/Tega Cay area, McHale’s Irish Pub will be closing its doors.

The pub's owners are selling the property to a Charlotte developer.

In a letter sent to the Fort Mill Times and posted on Facebook, McHale’s announced the closing of its Fort Mill location on Gold Hill Road.

“For almost two decades McHale's has been privileged to serve our community in unique ways and we have been blessed with the support of our community in return,” the letter states.

The restaurant has seen many celebrations and residents come through its doors and will continue that tradition in its Rock Hill location at 122 East Main Street, the letter states.

Owners Brendan and Tracy will continue to operate McHale’s on Main in Rock Hill and will also venture into their new milestone – Millstone Pizza and Tap House, located at 121 Caldwell Street in Rock Hill, the letter states.

“To all of our talented cooks, bartenders, waiters and dishwashers that have become a part of our McHale's family, and to our customers, our friends and our supporters, you have enhanced our lives for so long and we want to say thank you for the journey,” the pair states in the letter.
