Kimball wins JV state title

— Fort Mill High School wrestler Jarrod Kimball won a state junior varsity title at 106 pounds Saturday.

Five middle school wrestlers from Gold Hill and Springfield also competed in the state JV and middle school meet. Gold Hill Middle’s Chris King placed fourth in his weight class and was the highest local finisher.

Upcoming meets

Fort Mill High hosts Nation Ford at 5 p.m. Tuesday. Middle school, JV and the varsity wrestling teams will compete.

On Saturday, the Fort Mill Middle School wrestling team will end its season by competing in the York County Middle School Conference wrestling tournament at Castle Heights Middle.
