Middle school wrestlers wrestling team wins on criteria

— Last week, wrestlers from Banks Trail, Gold Hill and Springfield middle schools who are affiliated with Fort Mill High competed in a meet against middle school teams affiliated with the Nation Ford wrestling team and won by criteria after the match ended in a 33-33 tie.

Gold Hill wrestlers winning were MacKensie Larson, Jared Pierce and Jackson Ford. Springfield wrestlers winning were Brody Claassen and Jack Kelley, and the lone Banks Trail winner was Ethan Smith.

On Saturday, the Fort Mill High middle school wrestling program wrestled at the York County Middle School Tournament and Chris King and Jared Pierce, both from Gold Hill Middle School, won individual titles.

Kelley second and Ford finished fourth. Wrestlers who won matches were Adam Biehl, from Banks Trail; Larson, Claassen and Gold Hill’s Nick McKinness.
