Editor’s note: The headline on a story in the Feb. 12 edition of the Fort Mill Times about a resident heading to Antartica contained a geographical error. Two readers who noticed the error called our attention to it this past week:
The most amusing blunders are always the geographical ones.
I particularly liked the headline “Resident heading to snowy north for friend” on page 3A of this week’s Fort Mill Times, regarding Joy Smith’s intended journey to Antarctica.
Please double-check where Antarctica is on the globe!
It's most embarrassing when a newspaper writer and her editors don’t know that Antarctica is at the South Pole and one gets there from here by heading south not north.
I hope you didn't confuse Joy Smith.
