Banks Trail students take 2nd in robotics competition

— The Banks Trail Middle School Engineering Club competed in the South Carolina Project Lead The Way Engineering Competition at the University of South Carolina recently and won second place in the state VEX robotics competition.

Banks Trail students also won the Best Teamwork award in the March 11 competition.

The robotics team members are Chase Crews, Zach Hubbarth and Quinn Hubbarth.

Two design and modeling teams also participated in the event. The students who participated are Ashley Babinchak, Savanna Ritchie, Jackson Brown, Will Fey, Andrew Musmacker and Cody Thomas.

“I'm so proud of our engineering club for their efforts and teamwork,” STEM teacher Julie Maynard said.
