    What: 2014 Miss Nation Ford Pageant: Supporting Autism Awareness

    When: 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5; Doors open at 6 p.m.

    Where: Nation Ford High School auditorium

    Tickets: $5 at the door

— Watch more than two dozen girls compete for the title of Miss Nation Ford High School at the school’s annual pageant at 7 p.m. Saturday.

The theme is Supporting Autism Awareness.

“The girls were required to learn about autism and were required to do a service project related to autism,” said Student Council Adviser Renee’ Kozlowski.

Thirty girls are competing in for the titles of Miss Nation Ford, Miss Senior, Miss Junior, Miss Sophomore, Miss Freshman, Miss Congeniality (voted on by the contestants) and Miss Most Ad Sales. In addition to the titles, at stake are scholarships ranging from $50-$1,000.

Kozlowski said besides the experience of working with an interview coach, the girls benefit by “experiencing something new and meeting new people.”

Miss South Carolina 2012, Ali Rogers, will be emcee for the event along with Student Council VP Cody Pendarvis. Special guest/speaker/ judge is Otis from the Kiss 95.1 “O” show.
