— The PrimeTime Players semi-pro basketball team rebounded from a slow start to defeat the South Carolina All-Stars 113-72 Saturday at Banks Street Gym.

The teams combined for 16 total points in the game’s first seven minutes and PrimeTime (4-1) finished the first quarter with a season-low 20 points. Jamarius Colston sparked a second quarter PrimeTime run by knocking down three straight three-point baskets and when PrimeTime went to a press defense they were able to force the All-Stars (0-4) into turnovers. A late rally by the All-Stars helped them close the gap to 55-40 before the break.

The second half started out similar to the first, with both teams struggling to make much happen on the offensive end, but PrimeTime put together a couple of mini-runs that stretched the lead out to 83-60 heading into the final period. The fourth quarter was all PrimeTime as Chris Moore scored 14 of his game-high 23 points in the final period and the team held the All-Stars to 12 points on 5-of-20 shooting.

Tied with the Queen City Express for first place in the standings, the PrimeTime Players will be on the road this Saturday in Greensboro to take on the 3-2 Cobras.
