COLUMBIA — Both Fort Mill and Nation Ford were represented at the 2014 4A state track and field finals in Spring Valley Saturday. Fort Mills Zach Riley finished fourth in the 400 meter dash with a time of 49.14 and Jeremy Ricks finished seventh in the 3,200-meters in 9:58.95. Deaton Grant finished sixth in the pole vault clearing a height of 136. Nation Fords Will Manning finished third in the 800-meter in 1:58.44.
Fort Mill boys finished tied for 22nd overall and Nation Ford finished tied for 31st. No girls from either school participated in the meet.
Indian Lands lone representative, freshman Austin St. John, finished fourth in 3,200-meters in 10:29.26 at the 2A state track and field finals. The Warriors boys 4x400 meter relay team of Malcolm Reed, Manny Delgado, Albert Jackson, Josh Jacobs and alternate Scotty McCauley finished second in the event in 3:29.79. Indian Land finished 18th overall as a team.
