— The Fort Mill High School Percussion Ensemble recently competed in the Winter Guard International World Championship held in Dayton, Ohio, and placed in the national top 10 in the Scholastic A Marching Class.

The FMHS Percussion Ensemble has previously made the top 10 in the concert (non-marching) division. The Ensemble finished also finished in the top 10 in the Scholastic A Marching Class in 2006.

Fifty-four schools competed through multiple rounds of the Scholastic A Marching Class. Fort Mill's show was titled "Project Human," depicting a journey from mechanical uniformity of black & white to a creative individuality of many colors.

Jennifer Hughes and Brady Hartness are the instructors for the ensemble.
