Local students graduate from Furman

The following students recently received their degrees from Furman University:

Students from Fort Mill are: Whitney Becker, Bachelor of Arts, Education, magna cum laude, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael J. Becker; Andrew Gaulden, Bachelor of Science, psychology, son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Gaulden; Maddison Hall, Bachelor of Arts, political science and philosophy, summa cum laude, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffrey L. Hall; Chelsea Jasper, Bachelor of Science, chemistry, cum laude, daughter of Dr. Michele Jasper and Mr. Craig Jasper.

From Indian Land are: Samy Dorgham, Bachelor of Arts, political science, cum laude, son of Ms. Yelena Dorgham and Mr. Abdel F. Dorgham.

Students from Tega Cay: Bryan Betts, Bachelor of Arts, English and philosophy, summa cum laude, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wallace J. Betts; Nathan Koverman, Bachelor of Arts, history, summa cum laude, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rick J. Koverman.

Moss on dean’s list

Taylor J. Moss of Fort Mill was named to the spring dean’s list at East Tennessee State University. To qualify, students have to a grade-point average of at 3.7 on a 4.0 scale while completing a minimum of 12 hours of undergraduate work.
