— Wells Fargo has donated $100,000 to the Anne Springs Close Greenway to be used for resource preservation and activities.

The grant is part of the bank’s environmental solutions program which supports projects focused on land and water conservation, energy efficiency and education outreach. The bank recently made 54 grant totaling $3 million to nonprofit organizations across the country.

The Greenway recently announced a $15 million capital campaign to build a welcome center, amphitheater and create a endowment to help fund future programs. The grant is not for the capital campaign but will be used for operational expenses, Greenway officials said.

The Greenway is a 2,100-acre natural preserve that offers hiking, biking, kayaking while maintaining natural habitat for wildlife.
