Riverview student wins Woman’s club writing contest

WOMAN'S CLUB OF FORT MILL — WOMAN'S CLUB OF FORT MILL

The Woman’s Club of Fort Mill presented awards recently to the winners of its first Creative Writing Contest.

Riverview Elementary first-grader Mira Lanuto won first place for Fort Mill as well as at the state level and her work was sent to General Federation of Women’s Clubs, an international philanthropic organization.

The winner at this level will be announced at convention in Arizona this summer.

Terry Shaw, president of the Fort Mill Community Playhouse, presented Mira with a certificate for a complimentary week-long summer camp. Other winners included: Luke Mantel, Charlotte Overman, Rebecca Ogden, Trinity Seres and Zachary Webster. Club member Jane Marks coordinated the local contest and acted as judge along with members Carolyn Sumner and Amy KD Tobik.
