Providence takes a bite out of Fort Mill’s sharks

— The Fort Mill Sharks dropped its first meet of the year in the Greater Charlotte Swim League recently by falling to Providence Down South 354-345.

The team, based out of the Anne Springs Close Greenway Recreation Complex, won five of 10 relay events. Individuals winning for the Sharks were:

Aliya Ling – girls’ 6 and under 25-yard freestyle

Evan Kuehn – boys’ 6 and under 25-yard freestyle

Charly Morrissey – girls’ 9-10 25-yard freestyle

Xander Waldrop – boys’ 9-10 25-yard freestyle and boys 10 and under 100-yard individual medley

Austin Lockhart – boys’ 11-12 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke and 50-yard butterfly

Vialyn Castilla – girls’ 13-14 50-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke and 50-yard butterfly

Luis Bravo – boys’ 13-14 50-yard freestyle

Tristan Weaver – boys’ 8 and under 25-yard backstroke

Diego Caravaca – boys’ 9-10 25-yard backstroke

Sam Reiger – boys’ 11-12 50-yard backstroke, 100-yard individual medley and 50-yard breaststroke

Jada Norman – girls’ 15-18 50-yard backstroke and 50-yard butterfly

Andrew Lockhart – boys’ 13-14 100-yard individual medley and 50-yard breaststroke

Amelia Pach – girls’ 8 and under 25-yard breaststroke

Trentin Stillman – boys’ 9-10 25-yard breaststroke

Lacee Hinds – girls’ 13-14 50-yard breaststroke

Jared Ritenbaugh – boys’ 15-18 50-yard butterfly

The Sharks will host its first home meet this week against Charlotte Christian. The team will also have home meets June 19 and June 26.
