Tega Cay Breakers defeat Baxter, swim closer to Metrolina title

— Heading into the Metrolina Swim League season championship, the defending champion Tega Cay Breakers continue to set their eyes on another title.

Last week, the team beat the Baxter Barracudas for the second time this season, this time on the road. The final score was 313-221.

Tega Cay won four of the eight relay events. Individuals winning for Tega Cay were:

Kyndall Brown – girls’ 9-10 25-meter freestyle and 100-meter individual medley

Joe Orehek – boys’ 11-12 50-meter freestyle and 50-meter backstroke

Michelle Case – girls’ 15-18 50-meter freestyle and 100-meter individual medley

Shelbey Fuller – girls’ 11-12 100-meter individual medley and 50-meter breaststroke

Zoey Selby – girls’ 7-8 25-meter freestyle and 25-meter butterfly

Aubrey Chandler – girls’ 11-12 50-meter freestyle

Elizabeth Crumly – girls’ 13-14 50-meter freestyle

David Trotter – boys’ 15-18 50-meter freestyle

Chloe Brong – girls’ 6 and under 25-meter backstroke

Nate Orehek – boys’ 7-8 25-meter backstroke

Sam Cicciarello – boys’ 9-10 25-meter backstroke

Julia Cavanaugh – girls’ 11-12 50-meter backstroke
