Tega Cay Breakers win 6th consecutive swim title

— For the sixth straight year, the Tega Cay Breakers swim team finished the season right where it started – on top.

Tega Cay claimed its sixth consecutive Metrolina Swim League title as the Breakers battled with the Baxter Barracudas Saturday and won 750.5 to 443 in the championship meet over Rock Hill Country Club. Baxter finished third just 3.5 points behind Rock Hill.

The Breakers won three relay events to Baxter’s four but dominated the individual races in the championship held at the Rock Hill Aquatics Center.

Individual winners for Tega Cay were:

Michelle Case – girls’ 15-18 50-yard freestyle, 100-yard individual medley and 50-yard butterfly

Joe Orehek – boys’ 11-12 50-yard backstroke and 50-yard butterfly

Kylie Namowicz – girls’ 13-14 50-yard backstroke and 100-yard individual medley

Shelbey Fuller – girls’ 11-12 100-yard individual medley and 50-yard breaststroke

Collin McCann – boys’ 9-10 25-yard freestyle

Aubrey Chandler – girls’ 11-12 50-yard freestyle

Elizabeth Crumly – girls’ 13-14 50-yard freestyle

Nate Orehek – boys’ 7-8 25-yard backstroke

Jamisyn Carpenter – girls’ 9-10 25-yard backstroke

Owen Corkery – boys’ 13-14 50-yard backstroke

Megan Cessna – girls’ 13-14 50-yard breaststroke

Kelsey Holloway – girls’ 15-18 50-yard breaststroke

Madison Taylor – girls’ 13-14 50-yard butterfly

Individuals winning for Baxter were:

Ben Fenwick – boys’ 13-14 100-yard individual medley, 50-yard breaststroke and 50-yard butterfly

Niklas Boss – boys’ 7-8 25-yard freestyle and 25-yard breaststroke

Amanda Allen – girls’ 9-10 25-yard freestyle

Jenna Pehowski – girls’ 15-18 50-yard backstroke
