Haley was mistaken

“The most jobs announced in a single day in South Carolina’s history” was 63 years ago, in spite of what Gov. Nikki Haley said in Fort Mill recently.

On Nov. 28, 1950, President Harry S. Truman announced that the Savannah River Plant would be built. SRP completely transformed employment in Aiken and Barnwell Counties.
