Poster winners to be in calendar
Six local fifth-graders will get $100 savings bonds after their artwork was chosen from 180 entries for the York County Solicitor's Office first annual Anti-Drug/Violence Calendar.
The solicitor's office will be distributing full color 12-month calendars to local schools, law enforcement offices, libraries and other locations later this summer. There will be no charge for the calendars, which will include important local law enforcement and school phone numbers. Each winner will also get a copy.
Ward graduates from Lander
Heather Ruth Ward of Fort Mill received her Bachelor of Science in political science from Lander University in Greenwood Saturday, May 10.
Yarnell graduates
Tyler Yarnell, a 2004 graduate of Fort Mill High School, graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in business administration from the University of South Carolina Friday, May 9. He is the son of Kellye Yarnell and David Yarnell of Fort Mill.
Wilson graduates
Elise Wilson, daughter of Randy and Lisa Wilson of Indian Land, graduated Saturday, May 3, from USC- Lancaster and was awarded the Highest Academic Average award for having a perfect 4.0 grade-point average. Wilson was homeschooled before attending USC-Lancaster. She will continue her education this fall at USC in Columbia.
