The Nation Ford Falcons golf team just missed a top 10 finish in the Magnolia Invitational last week.

Nation Ford finished 11th of 16 teams. Down a player with junior Garrett Bruce out with the flu, Nation Ford was led by sophomore Brett Snyder, who had rounds of 83-82 for a 165 to lead the Falcons.

Scores for the most part improved for the Falcons on the second day of the tournament. Eighth-grader Evan Mathis shot an opening round 91, but came back on day two and shot an 84. The same thing for seventh-grader Corey Verhage, who shot a 97 the first day, but then came back to finish with a 90.

The only score that went up with freshman AJ Rosengarth's, who shot a 91 on day one and finished with a 94.

Earlier in the week, Nation Ford fell by just two strokes to Northwestern, 160-162.

Snyder and Rosengarth both led the Falcons with a 39. They were followed by a 41 from eighth-grader Kyle Shepard and a 43 by Evan Mathis.
