On two strong pitching performances, the Indian Land Lady Warriors are one win away from the Upper State tournament.

In two games, Indian Land has allowed just three hits. The Lady Warriors opened the playoffs with a 19-0 no-hit win over Calhoun County and won its second round game 1-0 Saturday over Southside Christian.

The Lady Warriors will play at home on Wednesday against the winner of Southside Christian and Tamassee-Salem. The team needs to win only one game Wednesday to advance to the Upper State tournament.

Junior Kristin Campbell pitched five innings of one-hit ball before Southside started threating in the sixth inning. Pitcher Kimber Coley came in to strike out one batter and force a double play with the bases loaded to get out of the jam. Coley picked up her first save of the year and Campbell improved to 8-3.

Indian Land wasn't the force it was in its win against Calhoun County, but was able to get the job done.

"Right now it's a total team effort," said head coach Monica Barfield. "Every game it's rolling over. It's where we needed to be at this time of the year."

The Lady Warriors' lone run came in the fourth inning as the team had only four hits in the game. Junior Alyssa Hartley started the inning off with a single and would later score on back-to-back errors by Southside Christian, which made five in the game.

Against Calhoun County, Indian Land pounded out 20 hits as Coley cruised on the mound with a no-hitter to improve to 8-6. Coley also let her bat talk for her, going 3-4 with three doubles and six RBIs. Campbell went 3-3 with three RBIs, including a triple, and sophomore Paige Brugh went 3-3 with three RBIs. Hartley, catcher Beth Martin and freshman Alex Greenawalt each had doubles as well.

The Lady Warriors opened the game with three runs in the first, six in the second and then 10 in the third inning.
