Nation Ford can't afford to lose again in this round or its season is over.

Against T.L. Hanna, the game wasn't as close as the score seemed as Hanna rallied with five runs in the seventh inning.

Junior pitcher Heather Hammond picked up her 14th win on the season, going five innings and allowing four hits and no runs. She also helped her cause by going 2-2 with two RBIs.

Nation Ford scored three runs each in the second and third innings to go up 6-0 early. In the second inning, freshman Makenzie Barbor singled and Hammond's double scored sophomore Jessica Bonham.

In the third inning, junior Brittany Jones, who went 3-4, started the inning off with a double. Bonham got on base on a fielder's choice and her sister Jennifer got on with a walk. Four batters after Jones' hit, Barbor doubled and drove in the Bonham twins. Barbor went 2-3 with two RBIs.

In the sixth inning, relief pitcher Bradlee Holeman singled to start the inning and junior Lindsey Visbeck singled two batters later to drive in Holeman. Nation Ford followed that up with RBI singles by Jones and catcher Amanda Stevens put the Lady Falcons up 9-0.

In the opening round game, Nation Ford was in a pitching duel against Boiling Springs before falling 1-0.

Hammond pitched a three-hitter and made only one mistake in the game, giving up a home run in the top of the seventh. Nation Ford only got one hit, from Visbeck, who went 1-2.
