The Fort Mill Lady Jackets locked up their fifth consecutive Region III- AAAA title last week against Lancaster, winning 7-0.

Keeper Hattie Ruch ensured the shut out with two saves on the Lady Bruins' only two shots on goal.

The game was nothing but a barrage of shooting at the Bruins' net for the remainder of the night. Senior Ashleigh Sheets racked up a hat trick. Freshman Ashton Wolfe marked up a goal for the Jackets. Freshman Kaitlyn Marr took a huge 25-yard shot over the Bruins' keeper's head and into the net. Sophomore Abbie McDonald ran the ball into the net all the way from the Jackets' defense. Freshman Hali Singleton juked her way to an open shot and gently tapped the ball in for the seventh and final goal of the night.

The Lady Jackets faced their new rivals the Nation Ford Lady Falcons, winning 3-1. That was senior night for Fort Mill, so to show their confidence and showcase their veterans; Fort Mill started every senior on the team, including their reserves.

Former Lady Jacket, Nation Ford's Nicole Parks showed no mercy against her old teammates though, as she slammed a goal into the Jackets' net in less than four minutes of the match starting.

That was Nation Ford's only goal of the night. Fort Mill kept possession of the ball for the majority of the night. The first goal was scored at the 23rd minute of the game. Sheets gave the ball up to sophomore Becca Tooley. Tooley, the Nation Ford keeper and the ball all met in a collision in the box. The ball managed to slip free first, giving Tooley an easy shot on goal.

A mere two minutes later, Tooley handed possession off to senior Megan Killmeyer who ensured a Fort Mill lead at 2-1.

Even though Nation Ford kept the game close with a seesaw of possessions, Sheets managed to break through the defenses and close the game up with another goal.

Fort Mill may now seem unstoppable as its closest region opponents--Northwestern, Nation Ford and Clover-- are still battling for the other playoff spots. The Lady Jackets are 14-2-3 overall and 12-0 in the region.
