The Fort Mill boys tennis team advanced to the third round of playoffs last week after winning what coach Willie Ware described as a "squeaker" of a home match against Irmo.

"The match was exciting from beginning to end with two tie breakers to win," Ware recapped.

Results for the match include William Reigel winning over Travis Reed 6-2, 6-2. Number two singles Robbie Davis fell to Jesdeep Furton 5-7, 2-6. Number three singles Paul Shaw fell 0-6, 1-6 to Paul Reed. Number four singles Kyle Orsburn fell 2-6, 5-7 to Joel Pelluci. Number five singles Chase Lee won in three sets 6-2, 6-7, 10-6 over Mitch Corbet.

In doubles play, Reigel/Davis won 4-6, 6-1,10-4 and Daniel Proctor/Jordan Lukens also won 6-2, 6-3.

Earlier in the week the team defeated Boiling Springs by a final score of 5-1 in its first round match.

Results for the match included Reigel winning 6-1, 6-0 over Chase Lyles. Davis lost to Corey White 6-3, 4-6, 8-10. Shaw won in straight sets 6-1, 6-1 over Stephen Higgenbotham, as did Orsburn 6-1, 6-3 over Logan Kimbrell. Lee also won 6-2, 6-1 and Daniel Proctor/Tyler Davis won in doubles 6-1, 7-5.
