"Sunshine" named as All-Star
Fort Mill boys lacrosse player Justen "Sunshine" Lane was picked for the state All-Star lacrosse team. He will play in the All-Star game May 10 at White Knoll High School.
Nation Ford High School will host a Battle of the Border basketball game at 7 p.m. May 17 with talent from schools in North and South Carolina schools competing. The cost is $10 per person and will feature former NBA player and Harlem Globetrotter Melvin Adams, who will be announcing the game and performing at halftime. An appearance from former Charlotte Hornet Mugsey Bogues is scheduled.
Football clinic
The Indian Land High football staff will host its second annual youth football coach's clinic for all area rec and youth football coaches Saturday, May 17. The clinic is free of charge, breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m. and the clinic will begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at 1 p.m. Presently, the line up of confirmed speakers includes: myself and staff, Lancaster High football coach Bennie McMurray, York High athletic director Steve Boyd, Will Mitchell, and NFL official Jimbo Howey.
Tennis clinic
Nation Ford tennis coach Matt Rohring has wrapped up the season for his team, but he's still looking to get in the game. On May 17 at the school's tennis courts Rohring, along with the varsity girls and boys tennis players, will host a tennis clinic for boys and girls ages 6-11. The girls clinic will run from 9-11:30 a.m., followed by the boys clinic from 1-3:30 p.m.
Cost for the event is $30, which includes a t-shirt and drinks. For an additional $5.50, a BBQ plate that includes smoked brisket, cole slaw and baked beans will be served. Presale tickets are available for any varsity tennis player for $5.

Mandatory meeting for Warriors
There will be a mandatory meeting for the parents of any boy presently in grades 8-11 who desires to play either JV or varsity football at Indian Land High School for the 2008 season at 7 p.m. Monday, May 19 in the ILHS gym.
Offensive line camp
Nation Ford High school will host a one day camp for offensive linemen May 24 at the school. Registration is between 8-9 a.m. with the camp ending near 4 p.m. Bring tennis shoes in case of rain.
