The Carolina Thunder took a short break last week for the Southern Collegiate Baseball League All-Star Game. The game was played July 12 at Russell C. King Field on the Wofford College campus.
The Thunder is a wooden bat summer league for college players. There are seven teams in the league. The Thunder entered the All-Star break with a 15-14 record.
Infielder Keith Mauney was an alternate and Chuck Rinehimer was named head coach.
The North ripped the South all-stars 13-1.
The South managed just four singles in the game.
Brase, Graveline and Markhun have served as starting pitchers for the Thunder. Brase has compiled a 3-1 record and a 3.54 ERA. He has 24 strikeouts in 28 innings. Graveline is 5-0 with a 2.70 ERA. Markhun is 2-2, 2.93 with 39 strikeouts in 40 innings.
McKoy is the team's leading hitter at .417 and shares the team lead with two home runs. Dziomba has 13 steals and is hitting .398.
Darlington has a team-best 22 RBI with two homers and is hitting .316. Holler is at .308 with nine stolen bases. Mauney is also hitting .308 with six steals.
The team plays its home games at Fort Mill High School.
They have home contests today, Thursday and Monday. All games start at 7 p.m.
