As the season draws closer, the runners at Nation Ford are starting to set both individual and team goals. The young but experienced cross country team looks to build on what it started a year ago and improve this season.
| Last season's team had 29 runners, but assistant coach Abby Beard expects to have more this season. She hoped to see more interest when school begins today. | |

| The boy's team is led by senior standout Kevin Coleman. Coleman finished fifth in the state last year and was named to the All-State team. His fastest time was 16:39, but he is not content. Coleman predicts the Falcons can improve their ranking of 15th in the state, and he feels that they could easily be in the top eight. | |
| Coleman highlights a group of six returning seniors for the boy's side. This being Coleman's sixth year competing in cross country, he knows that he will be counted on for leadership from his teammates. | |
| "I just show them how it has worked for me, and how they can get better by working harder," Coleman said. | |
| Sophomore Kevin Ketner also will contribute for the boys. Ketner consistently finished second to Coleman last season, and will be heavily counted on. | |
