"I'm very proud of all of them," coach Sara Allen said. "We had a good time and South Pointe was a great host."

The Lady Warriors finished the meet with 63 points. South Pointe ended with 51 and Spring Valley had 19. The boys finished with 85 points to South Pointe's 38 and Spring Valley's 20.

Despite having a team with only a few veteran runners - half of whom are middle schoolers - Allen said the season is going very well for the team.

"Most of them are in their first season ever running," Allen said. "They're all natural athletes that are dedicated to the sport and have shown leadership and cooperation."

Allen said the team is supportive toward each other. When it comes to competing, Allen said the team's time always needs improvement and that is something they are working toward.

"We have mostly competed against larger schools and have had a great time. We'll be very competitive at regionals," she said.
