Heading into the regionals this week, Fort Mill High School's girls golf team were riding a winning streak that continued after a three-way match against Nation Ford and Northwestern high schools.
"We played pretty well," Fort Mill coach Steve Gribble said.

Kalshoven all played very well."
Regionals were scheduled to begin Tuesday (results were not available by press time. For an update, please visit out Web site at www.fortmilltimes.com). After the three-way match, Gribble said he was hoping his team will peak at just the right time to move through the regional and state tournaments.
For Nation Ford High's Lady Falcons, the low scorers were Emily Baron with a 49, Zharne Glover with a 50 and Shannon Connolly with a 52. Although Nation Ford lost to Fort Mill, the Falcons did beat Northwestern giving the the team a 7-4-1 season record.
According to Howard Glover, his granddaughter, Lady Falcon Zharne Glover, comes from a long line of golfers.
"She played golf from the time she was 5 to about 8 years old and then she took a break to run track and play softball," Howard Glover.
"As a sophomore at Nation Ford, she has her first year of competition and is playing well."
Total team scores for last week's regular season finale were: Fort Mill, 176; Nation Ford, 206; and Northwestern, 231. The state tournament will be held Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 20-21.
