Breakers swamp the Gators

- Donna Britsch

Coach Cindy VanBuskirk had nothing but praise for the Tega Cay Breakers after they dominated the Landing Gators 460-128 in a swimming meet held June 8.

"We had a great meet and had some really fast swims," Van Buskirk said. "I am very proud of the swimmers and their accomplishments so far this season."

The win came against an emerging squad.

"The Landing Gators increased their number of swimmers from 80 to 109 this season. I have no doubt they will be a force to contend with in the future," VanBuskirk said.

The Breakers recorded more than 40 individual wins in the meet against the Gators.

The Breakers' first meet of the season at the Rock Hill Country Club was canceled after four events due to inclement weather. The Breakers were leading 40-20. They also had another meet shortened because of rain this season.

The Breakers' next meet is Monday, June 22, at the Fort Mill YMCA in Baxter.
