The top two seeds in the U10 Boys soccer semifinals squared off Monday: TC Blazing Fire 2, TC Gladiators 1; TC Blazing Fire to championship game;
U10 Girls Soccer: TC Cyclones 2, TC Sour Apples 0; TC Cyclones vs. TC Pink Panthers in the championship game.
U12 Girls Soccer: TC Cyclops 3, TC Fireballs 0; TC Cyclops vs. TC Emeralds to the championship game.

Trojans vs. Longhorns to the championship game
The TC Blazing Fire, coached by Matt Shelton, advanced to the semifinals by defeating the LSC Gators and the TC Galaxy.
The TC Gladiators, coached by Joey Blethen and Chris Quinn, advanced to the semifinals by taking down the TC Yellow Jackets and the TC Green Machines.
The TC Panthers, TC Green Machines, TC Crush and TC Galaxy must battle their way up from the loser's bracket in the double elimination tournament to remain in the hunt for the championship. The six teams are vying for the two spots in Thursday night's Championship Game at Turner Field at 7:10 p.m. in Tega Cay.
The TC Pink Panthers took down the TC Blue Waves, TC Hurricanes and TC Sour Apples on their way to the U10 Girls Championship. The Panthers are coached by Andy Burkholder and Barry Fletcher. The Panthers will take on the winner of the TC Sour Apples coached by Stuart Coston and TC Cyclones game.
The Cyclones are coached by Chris Pattinson and Denise Cottom.
The Championshipgame is scheduled for 6 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5, at Turner Field in Tega Cay.
The U12 Boys Championship game between the TC Blue Crew and TC Slime was scheduled for Tuesday. The Blue Crew were victorious over the TC Wolves 4-1 to reach the championship game while the TC Slime upset the second-seeded TC Fury on penalty kicks. The Blue Crew is coached by Jon Jarrett and the Slime is led by head coach Jodie Walsh.
The TC Emeralds dominated the TC Fireballs in the semifinals of the U12 Girls division. The undefeated Emeralds are coached by Ellie Ciaccia and Rachel Williams.
The winner of the game between the TC Fireballs, coached by Chris Pattinson and the TC Cyclops, coached by Jen Stalford, will take the field against the TC Emeralds for the championship.
Grid Iron Briefs
The undefeated Bears of the Leroy Springs Complex defeated the Tega Cay Trojans 20-0 to finish the season 7-0. Bradley Bott led the Bears with a 15-yard run for a touchdown and a 60-yard interception return. Harrison Cohen added the final touchdown with a 45-yard run after recovering a Trojan fumble. The Bear defense was led by Sam Yarnes, Tanner Chassereau and Kobie Harris, according to Coach Scott Lovette.
The Trojans defeated the Tigers 12–6 in the Pee Wee Division. With a tie game until late in the fourth quarter, Dylan Helms connected with Brady Stone on the fourth and 15 and the Trojans scored on the drive to take the lead. Steven Neese then recovered an onside kick from Dylan Helms and the offense ran the clock down to secure the victory.
Touchdowns were scored by Dillon Evans and Cole Marler. Defense was led by Colin Overcash, Steven Neese, and Pat Cross. The defense played one of its best games of the season.
The Bears defeated the Irish 20-6 while the Hurricanes continued their winning streak by defeating the Wolf Pack 20-0.
Small Fry
In Small Fry action, the Trojans squeezed out a victory 14 – 6 over the Bulldogs. The Bulldogs scored immediately on the first drive. After fumbling the ball on their first attempt the Trojans regained momentum by taking the kickoff and driving down the field where Dalton Evans scored on a 35-yard reverse.
Hunter Helms and Ethan Piercy connected on two long plays, one of which went for a touchdown but was called back and later connected on another that set up Piercy running for a 25-yard touchdown.
Strong defense was led by the hard hitting of Alec Ancevic and Danny Mackey for the Trojans. Neil Williford sealed the game late with an interception running the ball on three consecutive runs to end the game.
“It was a great team win and all the boys played hard,” Coach Evan Helms commented.
The Wolverines took down the Mustangs 6-0 and the Gators were victorious over the Warriors 28-6.
“I am so proud of the [players] for battling to the end of every game and never giving up regardless of how the season went,” Coach Ed Davis said of the Tega Cay 9 and 10 year- olds.
The semifinals were scheduled for Monday Night with the Longhorns versus the Wolverines and the Trojans playing the Wolverines. The winners will square off 4:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 7, at Nation Ford High School.
Tornadoes at the Plate
The Tega Cay Tornadoes U12 Girls were trailing after the second inning by five runs against Lake Wylie with 10 runs. In the third and final inning, the Tornadoes closed the gap scoring seven runs. Lake Wylie then scored their 13th run to win the game 13-12.
Devin Sallenger, Kathleen Stacy and Riley Duke all made contact with the ball, putting it into play. Sallenger had a long hit to right field. Coach Cheryl Halcolm was pleased with one of the new players, Katelyn Kiker, for getting a piece of the ball at bat. Second baseman Cameron Chwaszewski was also recognized by Halcolm.
“All of my new girls have really had a great attitude this season and I am excited to have most, if not all, of the girls on our team coming back in the Spring continuing to work hard on improving their skills,” Halcom said. “We were missing Alexis Spangler, Kayla Rose and Amelia Majcina, who would have had an impact on the game and pitcher Ivy Oates has been out with a wrist injury.”
The new catcher for the Tornadoes, Kathleen Stacy, has done a tremendous job behind the plate and really stepped it up during the game against Lake Wylie.
