Robins/Epps Family gathers
Family members of the late James Zebulon and Maggie Epps Robinson gathered recently at Jim and Nick's Barbecue in Charlotte in memory of Ellie Maude Robinson Wallace, Edna Mae Robinson Rogers, Rosalie Lee Robinson McCoy, Evelyn Robinson Ferrell, Alma Louise Robinson McCurry and Roy and J.Z. Robinson.
Family members attending were: Cameron Rogers, Nancy Rogers Carter, Anita Rogers Greene, Carleene Wallace Jennings, James Cater, Diane Cater Bryant and Caroline Bryant, Pam Greene Stover (Wes) Ashlee Stowe, Billy Greene (Kathy), Heather Greene Stahr (Andy), Doug Sullivan (Kat) and Ashley Sullivan. Family members attended the first time reunion on short notice, but a good time was had by all.
While reviewing pictures of long ago and people related to them, there were laughs and some tears, but everyone said that for those no longer with us, knowing the folks were there to represent the family would make them proud. Among the names mentioned were Gold Star mother Evelyn Ferrell, whose son Charles was killed in Vietnam in the 1970s.
“Getting to know each other was really a fun time and looking we're forward to a next time with more people attending,” said Carleene Wallace Jennings of Fort Mill.
