Zoar to hold bake, yard sale
The Zoar United Methodist Women will sponsor their annual bake sale and yard sale 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 10. If you have items you would like to donate for the yard sale, call 548-5254 for pickup.
Vendors are invited to contact Jean at 803-448-2655 or juschme@comporium.net, or Phyllis at 548-5254 for details regarding indoor table rental for the sale. The church is located at 13611 Zoar Rd., Fort Mill and the proceeds from the sales benefit numerous missionary projects of the group.
Rev. Setzler
takes pulpit
Recently retired from Immanual Lutheran Church in Greenwood and 40 years of ministry, the Rev. John Lucien (Jan) Setzler began his service as interim pastor for Crossroads Lutheran Church in Indian Land last Sunday.
Pastor Setzler brings a wide range of experience to Crossroads. He holds Master of Divinity, Master of Theology and a Doctor of Ministry degrees. He is presently chairman of the S.C. Synod Visioning God's Mission Steering Team, president of the Board of Trustees of Lutheridge and Lutherock Ministries and serves as president for the Regional Healthcare Medical Center Clergy Staff. He and his wife, Constance, reside in Rock Hill.

Nazarene homecoming
Fort Mill Church of the Nazarene, 109 Harris St., Fort Mill, will have Homecoming with a combined service that will begin at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 18.
Special music by Kelly and Susan Harvell, song evangelists and guest speakers will be Drs. Jim and Judith Stocks. Immediately after the service there will be dinner in the Family Life Center.

Higher Ground collecting food
Higher Ground Church has launched its second annual Feed The 5,000 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The church is looking to provide a nourishing Thanksgiving meal to those who would not otherwise have one. A menu has been developed using food that is non-perishable so church members can put the boxes together weeks before Thanksgiving.
Anyone who would like to make a cash donation to support the project can call the church office at 802-3189.
Careers in Transition meets
Lake Wylie Lutheran Church is offering a Career Transition Support Ministry to provide confidential, Christian fellowship for those making job or career changes to discuss feelings, issues and actions during their transition time. The meetings are each Tuesday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Lake Wylie Lutheran Church, Hwy. 160 & Gold Hill Road, Fort Mill. Unity Presbyterian Church maintains a medical equipment supply closet with donated items such as wheelchairs, hospital beds, portable bedside commodes, toilet risers, shower chairs, walkers, crutches, canes and more. Call 547-5543.

Forever Friends meets monthly
Forever Friends is a community program for adults with disabilities. It is sponsored by Grace Community United Methodist Church and meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the third Thursday of every month in the Fellowship Hall at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 1691 Hwy. 160 West, Fort Mill. It is for adults with disabilities ages 18 and older.
Anyone interested in participating is invited to attend.
NFHS Moms pray together
