Fall festival planned for Pleasant Hill
A community fall festival Saturday, Oct. 24, at Pleasant Hill UMC in Indian Land begins with a 7 a.m. yard sale. Rent a table for $10 or donate items for church to sale.
At 11 a.m. barbecue plates will be for sale. Free events for all to enjoy including jump castles, train rides and more.
Also at PHUMC, a Christmas greenery sale will be held Oct. 24. call the church office at 548-4922 to order your greenery for Christmas. Anything you need from wreaths, swags and ropes to help you decorate your home for Christmas.
All proceeds go to help the church's preschool.
Zoar hosts Halloween party
The Secret Sisters Unit of the Zoar United Methodist Women will host a Halloween Party from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, in the Family Life Center. There will be a costume contest, games, pizza and a cake walk as well as "trunk or treat.”

Real Life hosts yard, bake sale
A Yard and bake sale will be held 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24, at Real life Assembly, 1930 Pleasant Rd., Fort Mill. Refreshments for purchase include coffee, muffins, hotdogs, chili and chicken and dumplings. Eat in or take out.

Lake Wylie Lutheran has ‘career transition' support
Lake Wylie Lutheran Church, 2906 Hwy. 160 West at Gold Hill Road, offers a Career Transition Support Ministry, 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesdays at the church.

Forever Friends meets monthly
Forever Friends is a community program for adults with disabilities. It is sponsored by Grace Community United Methodist Church and meets from 6:30 to 8 p.m. the third Thursday of every month in the Fellowship Hall at Philadelphia United Methodist Church, 1691 Hwy. 160 West, Fort Mill. It is for adults with disabilities ages 18 and older.
The next meeting is Thursday, Sept. 17. Anyone interested in participating is invited to attend.
NFHS Moms pray together

Get the ‘glow'
Aglow, a transdenominational organization or Christian women, meets 7-9 p.m. the fourth Tuesday of each month in Regent Park. Aglow groups are in approximately 165 nations around the world with more than 1,400 local groups in the U.S. The heart of the organization is local fellowships. Small groups studies, care (support) groups, retreats, and annual conferences make up the Aglow year. It is a network of caring women as well as a faith-building organization. Higher Ground collecting food
Higher Ground Church has launched its second annual Feed The 5,000 for the Thanksgiving holiday.
The church is looking to provide a nourishing Thanksgiving meal to those who would not otherwise have one. A menu has been developed using food that is non-perishable so church members can put the boxes together weeks before Thanksgiving.

Young Life of York County is at work with teens in the community, providing leaders to help them make wise decisions.
Young Life is a Christian ministry committed to making an impact on kids' lives and giving them hope for tomorrow. Founded in 1941, Young Life leaders build positive relationships with young people in order to model and communicate the truth about Jesus Christ. Young Life reaches suburban, urban and multicultural kids as well as kids with disabilities and teenage mothers.

MOPS meets
Mothers of Preschoolers (MOPS) an international, nondenominational Christian organization, meets at First Baptist Church, 121 Monroe White St., Fort Mill.
MOPS serves moms to make a difference in the lives of their families. Women with children ages infant through kindergarten meet twice each month from September through April. One group meets the first and third Fridays and a second group meets the second and fourth Fridays, both from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Childcare is provided.
