With the win the Knights are now 4-3 on the home stand. Charlotte starting pitcher Lucas Harrell earned his third consecutive win. Harrell was stellar over 6.0 innings allowing one run off of six hits. Reliever Erick Threets came on in the 8th inning to make his sixth consecutive scoreless relief appearance. His scoreless inning lowered his season ERA to a team best 0.79. All of the Knights offense came via the home run with Charlotte getting 2-run homers from third baseman Dayan Viciedo and catcher Tyler Flowers. Both have been swinging a hot bat of late and are the top two home run hitters on the Knights with Flowers now having 13 and Viciedo 12. The Knights’ Greg Aquino earned his seventh save of the season. Syracuse’s Matt Chico took the loss falling to 1-3, while Harrell improves to 4-6. The Knights and Chiefs play the series finale tomorrow with the first pitch set for 7:15 PM. RHP Carlos Torres (4-5, 4.13 ERA) will start for the Knights and RHP Jeff Madel (2-2, 4.13 ERA) will take the mound for the Chiefs.
